Vintage solid copper French Bain Marie aka double boiler was made by Bazar Francais who exported luxury cookware from 1917 to 1975. The stamping "Bazar Francais 666" can be found on the copper band supporting the porcelain Hall insert. The "666" represents the street address of Bazar Francais in New York ~ 666 6th Avenue White porcelain insert is stamped Hall USA on bottom and is without flaws. The porcelain piece only was produced in USA. The copper and brass handles and lid knob were produced in France Bazar Francais New York "666" Bain Marie 3 Cup Double Boiler It is in very good vintage condition. The heavy duty Hall, 1083, 3 cup, porcelain insert is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The copper pot and lid are tin lined. The brass handles are hand riveted. The overall size is approximately 6 1/2 inches tall, 5 3/4 inches across the base and 11 1/2 inches overall, including the handle. It is marked Bazar Francais New York "666" which was the name of the first American gourmet cookware shop. It was located in New York city on 666, 6th Avenue. The establishment was owned by Charles Ruegger and was in business from the 1920's through the 1970's. Enlarge all the pictures and take a close look. There are some minor tarnish spots.
