Book Piece Rarest Schreiner New York Vintage c. 1960s Diamanté woven bib statement necklace with graduated baroque faux pearl drops, unsigned. This exclusive highly collectable statement bib necklace is a rare beauty of the Schreiner company jewelry assortment. Similar necklace can be seen on page 43 of “Schreiner. Masters of Twentieth-Century Costume Jewelry” book by Carole Tanenbaum and Eve Townsend. All stones are present, original and looking super bright and luxurious with absolutely no damage. The baroque Pearls are graduating from smallest at the top to largest at the bottom row of the necklace. The Pearls have perfect luster. The silver-tone plating is very well preserved. There is some metal wear to the cups of the pearls, which is reflective of an age. I describe the item to the best of my ability. Please look at pictures carefully and watch video as they are essential part of the description. Dimensions: The necklace is adjustable to 18", 6 1/4" drop. With the permission of Henry Schreiner's grandson, I am adding some of his notes from our mail conversation: "We sold this as simply "the Gary Pearl Necklace". It was showcased in Lord and Taylors NYC store in every window for the holiday season. in the late 60s. The Faux pears were made in NYC by an East European refugee named Cleo. He made the most realistic pearls using his secret formula he developed.
