RARE Jaded NYC 22K Plated Rhodonite Hematite Drop Pierced Earrings Introduction: These rare pierced earrings could be called “the feel-good earrings” for their many healing attributes. Known for it’s handcrafted one-of-kind pieces, Jaded quickly caught on in her circle of young Wall Street executive wannabes and soon everyone seemed to be wearing the easily-identifiable jewelry. Expensive (to their young set) yet affordable, Jaded is still offering their beautiful pieces at their shop at their exclusive store at 1048 Madison Avenue. And, just to prove the quality of the jewelry they design, these earrings, which will be 40 years old next year, look and feel like new. They remain classic and timeless, like my wife herself. Jaded Jewelry Background: Jaded Jewelry, originally created in Italy by Giuseppe D’Arcangelo in 1980, specialized in handmade semiprecious jewelry. Each piece was a one-of-a-kind creations to emulate Renaissance Roman jewelry. The store has maintained residence in New York — now at 1048 Madison Avenue — and still offers a full line of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, pendants, cuff links, pins and brooches. They continue to specialize in semi-precious stones and gold-plating, all handmade in Italy. The Earrings Themselves: I have never seen the like of these earrings. A stunning pierced drop earring with a dome of hematite on top and and oval of rhodonite on the bottom, the two are latched together by a swinging hinge of two small pearls. The bottom of the earrings swing freely when worn, for a both feminine and eye-catching display. The back of the earrings are new, the original ones long gone and, frankly, not as functional as the new ones. The oval rhodonite is embedded in a square of 22k gold plate, with a “hashmark” design in the background. The dome of hematite is encircled by a 22k gold plate rim. In fact, the entire earring is 22k gold-plated with gold stems. The back of the earrings are marked with the “JADED” trademark stamp in a raised oval.
